As the Election Approaches .....

I don't have any false hopes that things will change. Electronic voting cost the Democrats Ohio in 2004. The voting machines are made by DIEBOLD, a major GOP donor.

Remember: It does matter who's vote counts. It only matters who counts the votes.

and that does put you in a no lose situation...either the Dems take over and you're happy or the GOP wins due to crooked vote count. Why is it so hard for you to believe that there may be people with views that oppose yours?

i think we just have to vote.period. i think differing points of view is what has made us the nation we are. the scary thing for me, even more than the eletronic voting, is the fact that 20 million american women between the ages of 25-35 DON'T vote! gosh, talk about giving someone the key to your life!

Oh I accept that fact, I live in FL. Would I be happy if the Democrats win? Yes. Only because there should be balance in a democracy. If one party hold the excutive office then the other party should hold the house and senate. Reagan got things done because he did not have ultimate power, and also because he could reach across the aisle. Clinton's most productive years were when there a balance of power. There was a balanced budget during those years not a don't tax all spend government like we have now.

I respect your views even though I don't share them. That is the great thing about our country. We can debate the issues. It is the difference of opinion that builds a concensus and gives us all a voice.

Hey, I just heard...there's an investigation of a takover of a manufacturer of some voting machines...turns out the company is Venezuelean. It's the same company that took over shortly before Hugo Chavez was "Re-elected" I'm guessing they're no friend to the GOP.

the other problem with these machines is the lack of paper trail. appearantly, they can be tampered with and no one would know. there is a lot of uneasiness about electronic voting. perhaps, americans are actually thinking straight on this, for once. they scare me because of the lack of accountablity involved.

The programming is in ESPANOL. So when the machines are shipped to DIEBOLD or whoever, they have to have their entire programming re-written in english.
