Why Democrats suck.

While I do believe in a majority of the values of the Democratic party, more than a few things drive me up a fuckin' wall. Rather than supporting some Iraq war vets who want to run for congress or the senate, the party can't find a way to make them fit into their "matrix". These are people of my generation. The Democratic party is run my a bunch of baby-boomer pussies who want to keep the influence to themselves. Ah, guys in case you have not noticed, YOU LOST TOUCH WITH THE PEOPLE OF YOUR OWN GENERATION BECAUSE YOU LET THE GOP PUSH YOU AROUND. Now you isolate the people who put Clinton in the White House (my generation) to stay in positions of (percieved) power.

Why did John Kerry lose? Simple answer: Terry McCulife (excuse the proble mis-spell). At the Democratic convention in 2004, he ran a platform of not bashing the GOP. Keeping everything above the belt. Did the GOP return the favor? HELL NO!!! They ran their chicken hawk president out there and made him a hero.
What did the Dems do? Let them turn John Kerry into a wimp. A guy who actually served in Viet Nam, not someone in the Air National Guard. (Although I will admit, the viet cong never invaded while W was in the the guard.)

What can I do you ask? Apply pressure at a local level to get your voice heard. The baby boomers for too long have led this country down a bad path. They were supposed to be the ones who would change the world for the better. They failed. It is now our turn!

Zieg Heil to the President Gasman

Well, here we go again. Mid-term elections comming up and the "War on Terror" continues to show how great the Republicans are doing!!! Pretty soon we'll be seeing the ads about how we need the GOP in power to keep us safe. Let's take a look back at what was promised at the start of the Iraq war:
Gas will be 75 cents per gallon.
The war will pay for itself.
The democrats will let the wolves (terrorists) attack us.

These are all things said by the GOP ad machine to scare the s&*t out us (or entice us) to vote for their canidates. Is it me or was it a little convient that the "Terror Level" went up right before the elections? I wonder who is in charge of Homeland "security".

Gas prices are still on the rise.
The war has cost us more than any country can afford. (lives and money)
The largest terrorist attack in US history came while (F)W was president. This is wrongly blamed on Bubba's administration who warned the Bush administration about Bin Laden.

The American people need to to wake the f#*k up and realize they have been duped!!! The GOP has taken poop and turned it into gold. This is what happens when an oil man (albeit a failed oilman) is in power. Who profits from the so-called debunking of global warming? The OIL COMPANIES!!!! If we are driving gas guzzling SUVs, this is more profit for these bastards!

(F)W is an idiot. He is only a puppet. I doubt they even let him in the policy meetings. Case in point; Before the last elections he said he was in favor of civil unions for homosexuals. Then he followed that up by saying that he does not set the party platform. YOU ARE THE PRESIDENT, YOU D&*KHEAD!!!!

The oil companies are running the country with help from Ford and Chevy (Chrysler is owned by Mercedes so that are not allowed at the table). The GOP is ready to keep power in this country. Get your swatika arm bands ready!!!!!

Glen Beck(erhead)

On a recent show Beck(erhead) called Al Gore a NAZI. Saying that the content of the film "An Inconvient Truth" mis-represented global warming. He then said "This is what the nazis did. Talk about a small truth then blame the JEWS. " As a person of some Jewish blood I find this very offensive.
Let's face some facts Beck(erhead):
Just because your president's scientific advsors (Wow, that's an oxymoron) say that there is no such thing doesn't make their views more valid than Mr. Gore's.

The GOP made people who showed up at rallies for your leader sign "Loyalty oaths" Now, as a student of history, especially european history from 1918-1947, I seem to remember another group that made people sign such oaths...who was it??? The nazi party, inparticular the SS. The same people who carried out the holocaust.

National Socialism had nothing to do with Socialism or liberals for that matter. They were conservatives...JUST LIKE YOU!!! DOUCHE-BAG!!!

Finally, quit running the left-wing media bull-S#*t! All media outlets are owned by corporations. The media is now right-wing jerk-offs like you. By the way how do you sleep knowing you get a paycheck from the ultimate left-wing outlet, CNN? What the matter, did the Klansmen at Fox "News" Channel find something out about you?

Don't be fooled people! There are too many similarites between Germany of the 30's and 40's, and the republicans in the US today.

Fight The Witch!!!!

OK. First of all I want to thank you all for all the nice things you said about G-ma P. Just to give you all a warning this will not be site safe for Right wing, neo-con, bible thumping, short-sighted, "W" a@# kissing, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck(erhead) loving, conservative facists.
That being said, the other side of the fence will not be safe here either. Ultra-liberals are not going to like some of what I have to say either. (Granted, since they hold no real power in this country, I don'thave that much to say about them.)

My first rant is against Ann (Skeletor) Coulter. I'm not going to get on her about the 9-11 widows thing (God will get her for that). No. I want to know how you can write a book about how "godly" you are and them be on the cover looking like $2 hooker!!! Yeah, I'm sure Jesus told her to do that.
Just a quick note about JC...He was a liberal! If he were a consevative..he would have been Roman. Christ spoke about PEACE and LOVE. Right wing end of timers seem to skip right over the Sermon on the Mount and go straight to Revelations. Having grown up in a church environment, let me put it out there for you:
The John who wrote Revelations, was not the same John who wrote the gospel.
He was "revealing" what was happening to christians in Rome during his time, and the blame that was placed on them for the fire that destroyed the slums of Rome.
The Beast...You know..666 guy..it was Ceasar Nero.

These are things most Pastors WON'T tell their flocks for one reason; MONEY!
If people are not scared of eternal damnation, they won't show up at church. Then, there is nothing in the collection plate. This is the reason the Catholic Church edited the Bible the way they did and left out other books that are locked away in the vatican archives. This is why Martin Luther rebelled against the church. Money cannot buy redemption if JC died for all our sins.
So, Ann Coulter, while you continue to slide further in Neo-con slime, I hope nothing stains that low cut dress on the cover of your new book. You filthy w**re.

Don't cry. Celebrate!

I want to tell you about the most fascinating woman I ever met. Elizabeth Ketter. When I first met her I was too young to remember. I can bet she was happy to see me enter the world.

As I got older (by older I mean 2-3), I have flashes of memories of her. A sweet lady coming to visit us on Poplar Street in Denver. A lovely lady with a warm smile. That’s about it. Like I said flashes.

When we left Denver and moved to Pennsylvania my memories become clearer. Especially one Christmas when she came out to visit. I can’t remember what she gave me as a present that year, but it doesn’t matter. The fact that she came out to see Chris and I was enough. After that we didn’t see her much except for the occasional visits. They were usually too short.

We moved back to Colorado when I was in the fourth grade. I remember going up to a trailer in Aurora to visit her. As always, the lady with the warm smile would welcome Chris and myself and hug to the point of cutting off circulation. Some of my warmest memories were in that trailer. There where times when just Chris and would go there by ourselves. We did not know that our parent’s marriage was in trouble, we were not aware of the ongoing turmoil that was going on with our parents. The lovely lady with the warm smile would not allow us to see it. When we found out much late what had happened, I realized she was protecting us.

During these trips Chris and I would get up to what we did best, PRANK!!! My favorite and the one that we always talk about, was putting her keys in the freezer. Something about that joke was so funny to our pre-pubescent brains. Watching her go nuts trying to find them everywhere in the trailer only to think she was losing her mind by them being in the freezer, still resonates to this day.

As I matured, I found out more about my family history. I found out that this lovely lady with a warm smile fought her way (literally) out of an abusive marriage, raised two kids on her own, and defeated cancer, TWICE!!! She never talked about it. It was not her style to complain.

She would always speak with honesty. When my sister made me the godfather for my youngest niece, she was there. We spent a lot of time that afternoon just talking. We mostly talked about my sister’s three (at the time) kids, politics, science, you name we probably talked about it. Then, she turned to me and said “Jon, I know we don’t have a lot in common, but I want you to know that I have always been very proud of you.” What do you same to that except I love grandma.

Years when by and my visits with her became few and far between. Then in 1998, I took a trip out to Colorado with my then girlfriend Lil. We spent one incredible day together just the three of us. We went to the Denver Art Museum, they gave out little buttons that had DAM on them that she wore with pride all day. We stopped at a 7-11 outside of Denver. Lil went inside to get some water for us and she turned to me and said “I don’t care if you two get married or not. You leave her and I will disown you.” She cut to the chase; once again, it was her style.

We then made our way to Red Rocks. Lil was and always will be afraid of heights, and there was grandma with her walker helping Lil up the side of the mountain. The only thing that she was mad about that whole time we were there was that our dog, Bayliss did not make the trip. That was an amazing day that will be held in my heart forever.

The last time I saw her was around St. Patrick’s Day this year. My wife’s father was playing bag pipes in the parade in Washington. I skipped that to see Chris, the kids, and the lovely lady with a warm smile. The visit was too short in retrospect. I only spoke to her a few more times before her condition finally deteriorated. My last conversation with her was brief and to the point. “Jon,” she said “I don’t want you to cry for me. I don’t know how much time I have left and I want you to know how much I love you.” That was it. I sat there and cried the rest of the day with Lil, Bayliss and our new dog Suzie.

About 11 AM yesterday, Chris called to let me know she had pasted. So without a tear, just like I promised, I celebrate the life of Elizabeth Ketter. The lady that taught me to love the Denver Broncos, watch after my big sister even if she doesn’t need it, love my wife and hug my dogs. She believed in God and in science. I don’t know what happens when you die. My faith tells me one thing, logic tells me something else. I like to think that the truth is somewhere in between. Your soul goes where it should and your energy is released to the rest of world. If there is any justice, she is relaxing in heaven and her energy is alive in all of us.

One day I hope to see her again, the lovely lady with the warm smile. Grandma Peg.
